getboctaliv The phrase is derived from Ayn Rand's book "Atlas Shrugged". The context being used within Hackers-IL (especially by Shlomi Fish) is either:

  1. To indicate that it doesn't make a difference this way or another.
  2. To indicate despair struggling against the elements of reality.

Some variations to the theme are:

  • "Who is Jonh Galt? (or Jane Galt for that matter)"
  • "Who is John Galt, and did he call his daughter Britney Galt or Brittney Galt?"
