Aka: LordStroud

I've been involved in the Israeli IT industry since 1990 (gees, has it been that long?). I've been first introduced to Linux during my Army service, and was somewhat struck with it. My first teachers of the trade were Gil Ben-Nun (DataServe) and Something Chumash (DataServe). In the year 1996 I began my studies in the Technion and met several nice people.

Arik Baratz - Gave me the first push into pro linuxism.
Stas Beckman - The world may be my oister, but i'll take perl everyday.
Andi Gutmans - Long before PHP and Zend, there was VIPE!
Shachar Tal - The Grid has you, you must yield to the grid.
Yaron Yanay - Hacking is a moral obligation.

I can honestly say that my true pro-linux days started in the Technion Computer center, where I was working with Shachar Tal for almost 2 years. I then continued on my work to artNET experts, where I was mainly doing Linux based security systems and a whole lot of yicky Solaris. I then moved on to m-Wise where I dealt mainly in cellular connected systems, again, solely based on Linux (Long live Mandriva).

Today, August 2006, I am the co-founder of a start-up company dealing with Telecom's and VoIP based upon a core of Asterisk..

If you want to reach me, please do at: nirs at asterisk.org.il

I hope to see you all at Asterisk - to learn more about the future of Open Source Telephony.
