It looks as if a lot of the people who were involved in the upbringing of Linux worked in 1994 at HUJI (Hebrew University at Jerusalem, Israel). I remember some of them speaking as if they were all the "sons" - of one UNIX guru that educated a generation of UNIX hackers since and maybe still.
